Karen Grace - William H. Taft High School
2006 Pillar of Fairness
From a starring role as a cavity in the Northwest Crossing Elementary School play to KENS-TV reporter, 1996 Taft High School graduate Karen Grace has come a long way but has never veered far from her roots.

After graduating magna cum laude from Our Lady of the Lake University, Grace earned a master's degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Illinois. She worked as a reporter and weekend anchor in Charleston, S.C., Washington, D.C. and Phoenix, Ariz. before returning home to work for the station she grew up watching.

The multi-racial and bilingual newswoman wrote a children's book about diversity, which she reads to Northside students when she makes classrooms visits as the Pillar of Fairness. Skirt! magazine called her one of the Top 10 Women to watch in 2004, and we continue to watch her today as a news reporter and anchor on KENS-TV.
