Military feature writer for worldwide publications such as Soldier's Magazine and the Armed Forces News Service, Col. Renita Foster Menyhert, United States Army, is also a broadcast journalist for U.S. Armed Forces Network. She covered everything from World War II to Vietnam to the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan with an emphasis on soldier human interest.
A 1971 graduate of Jay HS, Menyhert also attended Valley Hi Elementary School and Rayburn Middle School. A role in the high school play, Barefoot in the Park, led her to earn a bachelor's degree in theatre arts at Texas Women's University and master's degree in broadcast journalism. While working in summer stock theatre at the Black Hills Playhouse in South Dakota, she was offered a direct commission in the Women's Army Corps in 1976.
