Michelle Ybarra - Tom C. Clark High School
2006 Pillar of Responsibility
A National Merit Scholar and an athlete who attended Boone Elementary School, Rudder Middle School, and is a 1999 graduate of Clark High School, Michelle Ybarra went on to graduate from Harvard University in 2003. While at Harvard, she taught in Boston’s inner-city schools during her summer vacation.

She’s also worked for the Diversity Coalition and the Ghana Education Project. She lived in a rural village in Ghana, where she helped build a library and taught AIDS awareness to tribal leadership. She says progress is not something that is easily accomplished alone, but “in concert with others.”

Currently, she attends law school at the University of Chicago and works on intellectual property law cases at a Chicago law firm.
