Patrick Cornelius - John Marshall High School
2006 Pillar of Trustworthiness
Patrick Cornelius was encouraged to pursue his talent for music and saxophone when he moved to San Antonio and enrolled in Stevenson Middle School at the age of 13. He later became a member of the Marshall High School Ram Band and was selected for All-State Jazz Band three years in a row.

DownBeat magazine called him the Best High School Instrumental Soloist at the same time Northside announced he was a National Merit Scholar. He attended Boston's Berklee College of Music on scholarship and recently completed his master's degree at Manhattan School of Music on a full scholarship.

This spring, he released his first CD, Lucid Dream to critical acclaim. He is currently composing, recording and touring in Europe and the United States and also teaches jazz to aspiring musicians.

From the 1997 graduating class of Marshall HS, Cornelius is a jazz musician, composer and teacher... and now the 2006 Pillar of Trustworthiness.
