Dear Parents,

The Lawrence Powell PTA welcomes you and your family to the 2008-2009 school year. PTA is a group made up of parents and educators working together for our children.

All parents want to do what is best for children and Powell PTA can help you do that! We all know that children learn more and have better lives when parents, teachers, administrators and the community work together to share thoughts, ideas on programs and projects that benefit children. In order to help children and their families, our PTA sponsors programs such as:

• Field trips for ALL grade levels
• New playground equipment
• Picnic tables and benches
• Landscaping to beautify our campus
• Teacher Appreciation
• Field Day ribbons and moon bounces
• Reading carpets for many classrooms
• Spring Fling carnival

By becoming a member, your support will bring us closer to accomplishing these goals. We understand that many people may hesitate to join the PTA because they do not have time to volunteer. While we appreciate and welcome volunteers, the PTA does not require its members to volunteer. In addition, anyone can join – aunts, uncles, grandparents, neighbors, community members, and even kids, as long as they are at least 14 years of age. Also, it is not required that the entire family, who is of age, join. The membership fee is $5.00 per person. Please join.
