I've been a teacher at Powell for fourteen years. Before I was the art teacher, I was the
CMC teacher. I have been a teacher with Northside since 1994, when I moved to Texas from Missouri.
I have taught for 30 years in many different disciplines and places (Japan and Australia).
I must say that teaching at Powell is the best!
My bachelor's degree is from Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, Ohio. This is where I studied art and math.
I earned my first master's degree from Antioch University in Yellow Springs, Ohio. My field of study was
Early Childhood Education. After teaching for several years, I returned to graduate school in
Cambridge, Massachusetts and studied art therapy. This led to my interest in special education.
Throughout my teaching career I have continued to take classes in education and art.
