Rayburn Library Information

Staff: Ms. Damon graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1995. She taught English at the middle school level for 6 years before receiving a Masters degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003. Ms. Damon attended Rayburn from 1981-83 and has been librarian since 2003.

 
Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. all school days, except Early Release days.
 
Collection: Over 13,000 items, including books, videos, and reference materials, books in Spanish, and a Texana collection. Additionally, the library maintains access to several full-text magazine and newspaper databases and the Internet.
 
Policies: Students may check out two books for a two week time period, using their six-digit student ID number. Students may also use the WebCat library catalog, databases, or Internet if they have returned their Acceptable Use Agreement.
Students may use the library with classes, or they may come by themselves before or after school. During class time and before school, students are required to have a pass from their teacher. All students must sign in at the circulation desk.
Parents are welcome to use our library during the school day. Please check in at the office when you arrive on campus.
 
The Sam Rayburn Library is named after Dr. David J. Doyle, past principal of Rayburn Middle School, who served our community from 1966-2002.
