Mr. Robert D. Lehr, Principal

Bob Lehr, Principal

My name is Robert D. Lehr, and I have been an educator since 1975. I am a graduate of John Jay High School (NISD), Our Lady of the Lake University, and the University of Texas at San Antonio. I taught at Royalgate Elementary School and was a Vice-Principal at Dwight Middle School in the South San Antonio Independent School Disstrict. I have been in the Northside Independent School District since 1985. I have served in the following Northside Administrative positions: Assistant-Principal at Coke Stevenson Middle School, Vice-Principal at Murray E. Boone Elementary School, Principal at Adams Hill Elementary School, Principal at Northwest Crossing Elementary, and I am presently assigned as the Principal of Frances M. Rhodes Elementary School.

I am married and have two daughters. My wife is a teacher at Bob Lewis Elementary School in Northside Independent School District. I am also the proud grandparent of five grandchildren, two boys and three girls.

It is an honor to be working with the Frances M. Rhodes staff, students, parents and the wonderful members of our school community.

Hello! My name is Debra Connor and I am very excited about being the Vice-Principal at Frances M. Rhodes Elementary School. I enjoy being at Rhodes because we have super students, an excellent staff, great parents, and a fantastic community. I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Bowling Green State University in Ohio, and a Master of Eduation from The University of Texas at Pan American in Edinburg, Texas. This is my 32nd year in education. I have taught 1st though 5th grades and have had a variety of teaching experiences, all of which I have enjoyed. Before becoming vice-principal at Rhodes I was the math staff development teacher at Rhodes.
In my free time I enjoy reading, cooking, and swimming. I have 2 sons, James and Brian.  James graduated from Baylor University this past summer, and Brian began Texas Tech this year. I am married to a wonderful man named Mike.

It is a privilege to be a counselor at Frances Rhodes Elementary School. My name is Lois Wachsmuth and I am the full time counselors at this wonderful school. This year I will be working with the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students. This is my 14th year as a counselor in Northside ISD and I have been the full time counselor since Rhodes opened in 2001.  I am Certified School Counselor as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Bachelor of Arts degree Psychology and a Masters of Science degree in Counseling and Guidance. I have a variety of experience in teaching pre-school through middle school and in Christian Education.

All our students will attend guidance classes that will be taught throughout the year. In addition our counseling department will offer small group counseling, individual counseling, individual planning, and system support for the school and community. Students are able to self-refer, teachers and administrators can refer children and parents are able to refer their child.

I look forward to working with the Rhodes children and their families this year. I love to see children enjoy life and it is my pleasure to help them learn to become citizens of character.

Hello! I am very excited about being here full-time this year! I will be working with Mrs. Hernandez' Pre-K students, as well as kinder, second and fourth grade students this year!

I am not originally from Texas, however, as the saying goes, I got here as quickly as I could! I left Minnesota for Texas to do my student teaching and I'm still here 20 years later! I am married and the proud mother of a sixth grade boy and an eight grade daughter. They both attend a Northside school.

I hope you will call on me at any time that I may of assistance to you. By working together we can ensure a rewarding school year for your son or daughter. We offer a guidance and school counseling program designed to meet your child's development needs. The program focus is academic achievement and success for each student in combination with personal enrichment and development.
