The curriculum developed and administered by all NISD fine arts instructors in all disciplines of instruction is aligned with the National Standards for Fine Arts and the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Fine Arts as outlined by the Texas Education Agency. Each discipline of fine arts study provides extensive opportunities for all students to develop 1) an appreciation 2) an understanding and 3) a mastery of the skills utilized within each fine arts discipline. Instruction targets the student’s understanding of clear and methodical techniques (process) that result in a successful product (or performance).
