Program Plan for 2004 - 2005
A.T.L.A.S. Meetings

Meetings will consist of a book study and conversations and will be held on the following dates. Participants need to plan to attend either a.m. or p.m. each session. Other than the September session, the first hour of each meeting will be allocated for eating and collegial information sharing time. Breakfast or lunch will be available based on the meeting date you select to attend. Only breakfast will be served on September 15 or 16.

Location: The first meeting will be held at the Knights of Columbus in Crownridge (6909 Camp Bullis Rd). off IH-10. All following meetings have been scheduled for NAC. Click here for directions to the meeting.

Books: Books have been ordered and purchased for you. They will be sent via pony to your campus with a reading schedule. Please read the required chapters and be prepared to discuss before each meeting. This year we will be reading Results: The Key to Continuous School Improvement by Mike Schmoker.

Schedule: For dates and times of ATLAS meetings, please check the Online Course Registration System.

Attendance: Attendance at each session is required. Please do not schedule hearings or other meetings during these times. If an emergency arises and you cannot attend, please call Joe Stattmiller at 397-8639 or Kathy Akin at 397-8819.

Personal Professional Development Plan
In addition to the four A.T.L.A.S. meetings, each administrator will be required to do a personal professional development plan. The idea is for you to identify areas in which you could use professional development to enhance your knowledge and job skills. You will be required to document six (6) hours of professional development in addition to the formal A.T.L.A.S. meetings. Professional development activities can include workshops from the Administrator Catalog, job shadowing, or school visits. Vice Principals can earn 3 of their hours by facilitative one of the book study sessions. A book study guide can be found online at www.ascd.org/cms/index.cfm?TheViewID=1192.

Diana Ely (397-7901) or Julie Kouremetis (397-7905) in Organizational and Staff Development (397-7900) will be happy to assist you with your plan or help you find activities that meet your goal.
