The mission of the Northside Professional Library is to serve and support the staff of the Northside Independent School District with professional resources. The library provides information on trends, developments, techniques, and research in all areas of education. Staff, administrators, and campus study groups may find the Northside Professional Library a helpful first source when seeking professional resources, doing research, planning staff development activities or taking classes.

Resources available:

• Phone and email reference service
• Over 7,000 books, videotapes, audiocassettes, and kits (searchable through the Northside WebCat system; go to http://webcat.nisd.net and select NAC Professional Library)
• Over 20 periodical subscriptions (non-circulating)
• Online databases
  • EBSCO ERIC & Professional Development Collections
  • WilsonWeb Education Full Text
• Bibliographies of subject area holdings
• Specialized collections of supplemental materials for curricular use in the areas of literacy, guidance, art, music, foreign language, and social studies
• Access to USDLC professional development programs

Library materials may be checked out to any Northside employee at no charge. Books are checked out for one month, videos and kits for two weeks. There are no fines, but lost materials should be replaced. Most materials can be ponied to and from locations in NISD.
