There are several specialized collections which have been placed in the Northside Professional Library for district wide access. Please note that the Northside Professional Library is a part of Organizational & Staff Development. Most materials are geared to professional staff development and are not inteded for direct student instruction. Videos must be screened by the teacher if they are to be used in the classroom, and district policy for video use with students must be followed. Teachers are expected to monitor any materials from the Northside Professional Library, print or non-print, before using them with students.

• Language to Literacy Bags - over 100 thematic picture book and chapter book units in blue bags; appropriate for all ages
• LINK materials - emergent literacy materials: multiple copies of trade books, big books, and books and tapes
• Guidance, Counseling, Substance Abuse - videos, kits, and books
• Art and Music - videos, slides, books, and cassettes
• Foreign Language - travel and language videos, copies of various textbooks
• Social Studies
  • Elementary - one set of My America video series, some materials from Adventures in Time and Place, and American Girl, Riverwalk, Civil War, and Japanese Family trunks
  • Secondary - videos: Ken Burns Civil War series, Liberty!, Chicano!, Vietnam: a Television History, History of the News, ABC Nightline from the 1980s, Profiles in Courage biographies, various Texas videos; secondary Riverwalk kit
