Course Title Course Description
4MAT Fundamentals: A Framework for Learning The 4MAT Instructional Framework is an instructional model which honors learner diversity, incorporates current brain research and provides assistance in developing and delivering instruction. Please bring ideas for unit planning.
4MAT Intermediate 4MAT Unit Planning continues with additional training and application of multiple intelligence, brain research, and 4MATION software. Pre-Requisite: Must have attended 4MAT Fundamentals. Please bring ideas for unit planning.
Being a Star Polisher: Motivation in the Classroom This session will emphasize techniques and strategies for enhancing student motivation for success in the classroom.
Classroom Management: It's in the Bag! Participants will explore research based techniques and strategies used by effective teachers to create a classroom full of successful, motivated students.
Learning Structures This session is a follow-up to the session, “A Framework for Understanding Poverty” and is based on the work of Dr. Ruby Payne. It explores the role of mediation is helping students from poverty to be academically successful. Topics will include: building mental models, identifying payoffs for learning, developing question-making and labeling/sorting strategies. Prerequisite: A Framework for Understanding Poverty
Love and Logic Awareness What is Love and Logic all about? Participants will get a brief overview of Jim Fay and Charles Kline’s Love and Logic philosophy and techniques.
Multiple Intelligences Get ideas for using principles of Multiple Intelligences to develop lessons that help your students achieve their potential.
Ron Clark's The Excellent 11 Based on the nationwide bestseller, The Excellent 11 by Ron Clark, this session focuses on eleven qualities educators use to inspire and motivate young people.
Teaching with Love & Logic in the Elementary and Secondary Classroom The Love & Logic approach puts teachers in control, teaches children to be responsible and prepares them for the real world. The practical techniques taught in this workshop are easy to learn, can change lives and help raise responsible kids.
The Framework for Understanding Poverty The work of Dr. Ruby Payne, A Framework for Understanding Poverty, provides unique research and specific tactics to address the achievement obstacles children of poverty experience. This session will draw on Dr. Payne’s work to provide educators an opportunity to investigate the effects of economic class on school achievement and develop the competencies needed to help children of poverty succeed in the school setting.

Using Rubrics for Assessment & Evaluation This in-service training session will focus on the origin, definition, components, and benefits of Rubrics Assess. Participants will have an opportunity to create Rubrics for use in the classroom.
