World Book Online: Contains a complete encyclopedia of information for research purposes. You will need a password to access this web site from home. Check with your teacher or librarian for the password.
PBS History: This site has a vast hotlist on American history as well as famous Americans. There are also some great timelines on this web site.
Smithsonian Institute: Use this site to see and learn about treasures from the National Museum of American History.

The Whitehouse: This web site has biographical information of presidents both past and present as well as the history of the Whitehouse.
America's Story: This site by America's Library allows students to take a trip back to an era in America's History.
Picturing the Century: One hundred years of history given through photography from the National Archives.
Franklin D. Roosevelt Library: This web site has historical documents and online photos about FDR and the United States during his presidency.
US State Department: Information on Madeleine Albright, the US Secretary of State.
John F. Kennedy Library: There are two web pages, one has a biography of JFK and the other is an educational resource for students on JFK.
National Museum of American History: This site gives information on over 33 different exhibits going on at the Smithsonian.
Stanford University: Martin Luther King, Jr papers, biography, and interactive timeline.
