Your teacher will give you specific guidelines to follow for each project. Every teacher has different expectations and therefore will relay them to you. However, you can use the following as a general guide when creating your projects:
|
World History Timeline: Make sure your timeline is neat and legible. It should include at least 10 events from both Texas history as well as World history. Run your timelines concurrently (meaning one above the other so the teacher can see them). There should be no spelling errors. Use some pictures or graphics to enhance your timelines. Present your timelines to your class. |
| United States History Timeline: Make sure your timeline is neat and legible. It should include at least 10 events from both Texas history as well as United States history. Run your timelines concurrently (meaning one above the other so the teacher can see them). There should be no spelling errors. Use some pictures or graphics to enhance your timelines. Present your timelines to your class. |
| Alamo Heroes Report: Your report can be written or typed. It should be no shorter than 3 pages written or 2 pages typed. Use a good clean 12 point font. If you write your paper, make sure it is neat and legible. Include a cover page with the name of your hero, your name, your teacher's name and the date on the center middle of the page. There should be no spelling or grammar errors in your final draft. You may include any pictures or graphics, but it is not a must. Present your report to your class. |
| Alamo Heroes Poster: Design your poster so that it is visually appealing. Use pictures, graphics, or draw your own designs to help make your poster exciting. You should include as much information as possible about your hero as possible. Your poster should be neat and legible. There should be no spelling or grammar errors. Make sure your hero's name is large enough that your teacher knows who your poster is about. Put your name, your teacher's name, and date on the BACK of the poster. Present your poster to your class. |
| Alamo Presentation: Check with your teacher as to how many slides they would like you to have. You should have an introduction slide, a conclusion slide and a citation slide. Your introduction slide should have the name of your presentation and your name. Your slideshow should give important information, but should not be filled with too many sentences. You don't want your audience to have too much to read. Be short and to the point. Use a good clean 26 - 32 point font. Make your presentation visually appealing. Use custom animation and transitions between slides. There should be no spelling or grammar errors. Present your slideshow to your class. |
| Alamo Brochure: Ask your teacher what specific information they would like you to include in your brochure. Choose a design and colors that enhance your brochure, not overwhelms it. Include the title of your brochure and your name on the front. Place your citations on the middle back panel at the bottom. Use a good clean 10 point font. Use only one or two graphics or pictures so you have more room for information. There should not be any spelling or grammar errors. Print enough brochures (ask your CIT for help) for your classmates. Present your brochure to the class. |
| Live Theater: Write your script so that others can follow it. You may include only one character making a soliloquy (speech) or you can have many characters acting out a scene. Do not do more than one scene. Try to have some props and costumes for the show. Take the show very seriously as it will be a major part of your grade. Choose only those students to participate in your scene that will take it seriously as well. They could also impact your grade if they act silly. Give your actors plenty of time to learn their lines. Although this is meant to be fun, it is also meant to show what you have learned about the Alamo so it should be your best work. Present your show to your class. |
| Scale Model of Alamo: Create a scale model of the Alamo grounds during 1836. You may use whatever material you like as long as it is a true reflection of the time period. You should include small descriptives indicating where important events occurred on the Alamo grounds. Your work should be done neatly with as much detail as possible. There should be no spelling or grammar errors in your descriptives. Put your name and teacher's name at one corner of the model. You will be responsible for gathering items for your model. You should bring those items to school in order to work on it in class. You can discuss with your teacher if you need to take it home for final touches before presenting it to your class. Present your model to the class. |
