Task

Your job will be to create a project showing what you have learned from research on the battle of the Alamo and events leading to this battle. You may work on the project individually or in groups of 3 to 4. The following are examples of projects you may choose from. However, if you have an idea for a project feel free to approach your teacher with your idea to see if it is acceptable.

Timeline: Using either Timeliner or Inspiration compare Texas History to the United States History from 1820 to 1838. Give at least 10 important events from each history. Alamo Heroes Report: Write an essay about an historical figure from the Alamo. Be sure to include as much biographical information as you can. Remember to cite all your sources and write the paper in your own words. Alamo Heroes Poster: Create a poster about an historical figure from the Alamo. Make your poster both informational as well as visually appealing.

 

PowerPoint Presentation: Create a PowerPoint presentation regaling the life and times of an historical figure from the Alamo or telling about the 13 days of the Alamo leading to the final battle. Alamo Brochure: Create a brochure about the 13 days of the Alamo leading to the final battle. Give as much detail as possible. Make your brochure both informational and visually appealing.
Live Theater: Write a script for a 5 minute scene based on the battle of the Alamo. Act your scene out in front of the class. You may want to have minor props and appropriate costumes for your scene. Enlist a few of your classmates to act it out with you.  Create a 3-dimentional scale model of the Alamo. Be sure to include notes depicting important events and where they occurred on the Alamo grounds. Be as detailed as possible in your recreation of the Alamo.
