What is Project Graduation?
Project Graduation is an all-night, alcohol and drug free celebration for the Stevens High School graduating class of 2010. There will be no other schools and no other classes at our event. The event includes food, entertainment, games, and more in a secure environment. Project Graduation is NOT a school sponsored event. Although Stevens High School endorses this activity, after commencement exercises the students are alumni of SHS.
When and Where is it held?
The celebration begins the night of graduation, June 8, 2010 , and continues until the early morning of the next day, June 9, 2010 . The exact time is TBA, but approximately 10:30pm , June 8 until approximately 6:00am June 9. Students will check-in at the front of SHS about 45 minutes prior to departure. They will be bussed to the site of our event and bussed back to the front of SHS the next morning. The location is
Shady Oaks Ranch
.
Why is it so important?
Project Graduation began in response to the loss of lives in alcohol and drug related crashes following graduation. Graduates often 'party hop' in their efforts to celebrate with as many of their classmates as possible. Project Graduation provides a safe alternative to party hopping: it keeps all of the graduates off of the roads, prevents any of them from becoming an accident statistic and allows their parents to rest easy knowing their son/daughter is safely celebrating. For the past three (3) years, parents of seniors at Stevens High School have joined together to organize a Project Graduation celebration.
Are all members of the graduating class eligible to attend?
Graduates must qualify to 'walk' in the graduation ceremony to attend project graduation.
Who is in charge of Project Graduation?
A group of volunteer parents. All senior parents are invited and encouraged to attend meetings. The parents of Juniors, Sophomores and Freshman are also encouraged to participate as they will be preparing soon for their children to attend project graduation.
When are meetings
Meetings will be held monthly. The first meeting will be Tuesday, September 29 at 6:30pm in the LGI room. Future meetings dates are TBA and will be posted on the school website under the Project Graduation link.
Who pays for the Project Graduation events?
Project Graduation is funded 100% by fundraising, donations and student registration fees. We need your help to keep this tradition going for our children! Prizes are determined by the amount of funds raised by Project Graduation.
What are the goals for Project Graduation 2010?
Have 100% student participation and raise enough money to pay for the venue and purchase as many fabulous door prizes as possible. In the past years students have won laptops, televisions, digital cameras, gift cards, cash prizes and more.
Your donations and fundraising will greatly assist in supporting our efforts so that the seniors can enjoy this event.
