Welcome Falcons! What an exciting year we have ahead of us! Freshmen will get their first taste of the high school experience, while sophomores and juniors will be learning to blend their previous traditions to create a new and special part of their lives. Sometimes, making a transition to a new place can be difficult. Your counselors want to help you with this transition through our comprehensive guidance program.
The counseling office offers a developmental, educational program to all of our students through the guidance curriculum. Students will have the opportunity to explore self-confidence, motivation to achieve, decision-making and problem-solving skills, interpersonal effectiveness, communication skills, cross-cultural effectiveness, and responsible behavior in classroom groups.
Counselors also help students with their individual needs. Through individual planning, students will review their progress towards graduation and chart their education beyond high school. Sometimes, personal issues make those plans more difficult, and your counselor is here to be a listening ear, an advocate, and a guide. Individually and in groups, counselors meet with students in need to discuss issues such as personal management, life skills, making positive choices, and reaching goals.
The primary goal of the counseling office is to support the academic success of all students. We offer consultations to both parents and faculty as we work together toward this goal. Anytime the counseling office can be of service, please call us at 397-6482. Counselors are assigned to students alphabetically. The preliminary assignments are:
