Our campus maintains two computer labs for whole-classroom use by any teacher, according to availability. All teachers have access to the lab calendars for their reservation through their Groupwise email program. Getting to the calendars is called Proxying. Visit with your CAT, CIT, or use these online instructions to help you proxy.
Teachers have access to more technology outside their classrooms.
Departmental Resources
- Each department may have shared check-out equipment that teachers may use in their rooms for a limited time. This may include digital projectors, overhead projectors, cameras, laptops, etc. Check with your department coordinator for a list of available equipment and checkout procedures.
- Some departments have dedicated computer labs. Check with your department coordinator for availability.
- Departments have or share workrooms throughout the building. Generally, workrooms contain high-speed copiers, color printers, multiple phones, computer stations, and scanners. While departments “claim and maintain” certain workrooms, we generally do not mind sharing on the occasions when your workroom is full or under repair.
The Library
- Our library has instructional equipment available for faculty checkout. This includes digital cameras, a video camera, and a variety of projectors. Visit with the librarian for a list of available equipment and checkout procedures.
- The library also has a full complement of computers, scanners, and copiers for student
and classroom use. See the librarian for usage ideas. - The library hosts our Video Distribution System. The librarian can play CDs, DVDs, and videotapes for you on a specific TV channel. Your classes can watch the presentation in any room on campus with a TV.
- Students may print in the library, at no charge, with teacher permission. This means teachers may send students to the library with a completed pink pass for quick prints of academic work.
- Students may photocopy in the library for a nominal fee.
The Campus
The campus has stationary resources which may be used for instruction, such as
- Two open-use computer labs that teachers may sign-up for classroom project use. See the CIT for an introduction to this resource.
- The auditorium, Commons/Cafeteria, and other campus areas may be used with faculty reservation through the Facilities administrator.
- The Lecture Hall, a large, 100 seat room with multimedia equipment. It is located in the C Building and is reserved for use through the Communications Arts Principal's Office (directly across the hall).
- The Campus Work Center , a “super workroom” staffed by special education students. Teachers may place “orders” for various classroom paperwork needs, and
the spec ed students will complete the jobs for them. Any “order” that has a materials cost, such as lamination, colored paper, colored posterboard, etc., is charged at cost. Labor and labor tasks are free.
