Jana Knezek
has been Director of Library and Textbook Services in
Northside since 2000. Besides teaching and librarian
experience she has been Director of Secondary Curriculum,
Libraries, and Gifted and Talented. She is active at
the state level with the Texas Library Association,
currently serving as past chair of the Legislative Committee.
Jana has
been an adjunct professor for the University of North
Texas School of Library and Information Science, teaching
online. She currently serves as a member of the Board
of Advisors for that program. In her past she served
as director of a combined school/public library. Her
undergraduate degree is in elementary education and
her Master's is in Library Science. She additionally
holds mid-management certification and has completed
15 hours toward a PhD in instructional technology. Jana
has presented at local, state, and national library
and technology conferences. She believes public schools
and libraries are the key to a democratic society. She
