Responsible Use
In accordance with the District's Acceptable Use Policy and Administrative Regulation TEC 01, employees are responsible for their use of District-owned technology. This expectation is extended offsite when the employee is using District-owned technology, including the District-owned laptop. Employees are expected to follow the District's Acceptable Use Policy when using the laptop, regardless of the location the laptop is being used. A few key points in accordance with the Acceptable Use Policy:
- Do not store sensitive or confidential data on the device without realizing the risk assumed by doing so. The disclosure of certain types of information could result in a violation of federal law.
- Log off online applications and close the browser. This will help prevent unauthorized access to confidential data.
- District wireless equipment should only be connected to an authorized wireless access point (e.g. District, home, hotel) rather than an unauthorized access point (e.g. neighbor's access point).
