Part III

As an educational leader in ever-changing world, you deal with many of Technology Social, Legal and Ethical Issues on a daily basis. The Collaborative for Technology Standards for School Administrators (TSSA Collaborative) has developed standards that enable us to move from just acknowledging the importance of these issues to defining the specifics of what administrators need to know and be able to do to optimize the effective use of technology in our schools. Part III covers the following TSSA Standards:

Leadership and Vision—Educational leaders inspire a shared vision for comprehensive integration of technology and foster and environment and culture conducive to the realization of that vision.

Social, Legal, and Ethical Issues—Educational leaders understand the social, legal, and ethical issues related to technology and model responsible decision-making related to these issues

At the conclusion of Part III, administrators will:
  • Better understand the TSSA framework
  • Discuss with colleagues various ways to apply the Leadership and Vision Standard
  • Explore the Performance Indicators of the Social, Legal, and Ethical Standard
  • Review literature related to the Social, Legal, and Ethical Standard

Introduction and Review of Technology Turning Points Part I and Part II

Standard IV: Educational leaders understand the social. legal, and ethical issues related to technology and model responsible decision-making related to these issues. With a partner, explore one of the Performance Indicators of the Social, Legal and Ethical Standard and be prepared to share with the rest of the group.

Putting it all together. As a group, review the various indicators for TASSA Standard IV.
