Pesonal-Owned Laptops

NISD Employees and all secondary students are allowed to bring their personal-owned laptop computers to work/school. Using the NISD WiFi, staff and students can access the filtered Internet and various web applications. For instructions on how to connect to the NISD WiFi, click here.

NOTE: You will not have access to the network drives, your H:Drive, or printers when you connect to the NISD WiFi.


NISD Wireless Network

Northside ISD is the largest school district in the state to go completely wireless, giving students, teachers, and staff access to the Internet anywhere and anytime at all campuses. Internet coverage and NISD network access is available throughout all campuses, including classrooms, libraries, cafeterias, gymnasiums, and outdoor common areas to support a wide variety of instructional and administrative applications.

The NISD wireless network should be used when connecting a DISTRICT owned laptop to the network.

NOTE: By using a Northside laptop you will have access to the network drives, your H:Drive and printers. Click here for step by step instructions.

Your H:Drive

Your H:Drive is secure, private and backed up nightly.  Saving your files to your H:Drive ensures you don't lose them if your computer were to crash or get stolen.  How do you save to the H:Drive?  Here are the simple steps...

  1. In your active application, click File>Save As.
  2. Click the drop down arrow on the dialog box to      find your H:drive (identified with your E#).
  3. Name your document and click Save.
