Eduardo Villarreal Jr. "Always the Children First"
Mr. Eduardo Villarreal Jr. contributed 38 years of his life to education, approximately 23 of those with Northside ISD. He started as a classroom teacher at Cable Elementary in 1966, the first male Kindergarten teacher in Northside. Two years later he became the principal at Cable, making him the first Hispanic principal in NISD. In 1971 he was named the principal of Forest Hills Elementary School. He was appointed Director of Federal Programs in 1975, and in 1979 became the Assistant Superintendent for Federal Programs. In this position, he headed what is now the Division of Compensatory and Support Programs.
Mr. Villarreal was born in Laredo, TX on September 17, 1928. He attended Texas Military Institute in San Antonio, and graduated from St. Mary's University. In November of 1989, Mr. Villarreal retired from Northside. He passed away on December 24, 1990. On May 5, 1991, under the principalship of Dr. Benito Resendez, Forest Hills Elementary was officially renamed Eduardo Villarreal Jr. Elementry School.
Mr. Villarreal was married to Acelie and had three sons, Eduardo III, Manuel, and Roberto.

El Sr. Eduardo Villarreal Jr. contribuyó 38 años de su vida a la educación, aproximadamente 23 de esos años con el Distrito de NISD. Empezó como maestro de salón de clases en la Primaria Cable en 1966, el primer maestro hombre de Kindergarten en Northside. Dos años después, se convirtió en director de Cable, haciéndolo el primer director hispano en NISD. En 1971, fue nombrado director de la Escuela Primaria Forest Hills. Fue designado Director de los Programas Federales en 1975 y en 1979, Asistente del Superintendente para los Programas Federales. En este puesto, encabezó lo que ahora es la División de Programas Compensatorios y de Apoyo.

El Sr.Villarreal nació en Laredo, TX el 17 de septiembre de 1928. Asistió al Instituto Militar de Texas en San Antonio y se graduó de la Universidad de St. Mary. En noviembre de 1989, el Sr. Villarreal se retiró de Northside. Falleció el 24 de diciembre de 1990. El 5 de mayo de 1991, siendo director el Dr. Benito Resendez, la Primaria Forest Hills se le dio oficialmente el nuevo nombre de Escuela Primaria Eduardo Villarreal Jr.
El Sr. Villarreal estuvo casado con Acelie y tiene tres hijos, Eduardo III, Manuel y Roberto
