On April 27, 1791, Samuel Morse, inventor of the telegraph, was born.

  1810   On February 14, 1819, Christopher Sholes, inventor of the typewriter, was born.

  1830   Lewis E. Waterman, inventor of the Fountain Pen was born in 1837.
  1840
On May 24,1844, the first telegraph message was sent from Baltimore to Washington, D.C., by Samuel Morse.

Thomas Alva Edison, inventor of the phonograph, phonograph record, motion picture projector, carbon telephone transmitter, and electric light bulb, was born on February 11, 1847.He patented over 1,000 new inventions, many of which we still use today

Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the telephone,multiple telegraph, and photo-sensitive selenium cell was born on March 3, 1847.

George Eastman, inventor of the Kodak Camera, was born on July 12, 1854.

On July 10, 1856, Nikola Tesla, inventor of the radio, flourescent lights, induction motor, tesla coil, remote control devices and over 700 inventions and 100 patents was born.

  1860 On June 23, 1868, the patent for the first typewriter was given to Christopher Sholes.  
 
1870

The telephone was invented in 1876.
The carbon telephone transmitter was invented in 1876.
The phonograph and phonograph record were invented in 1877.
The electric light bulb was invented in 1879 along with the first electric motor.

On April 25, 1874, Guglielmo Marconi, one inventor of the radio, was born.

  1880

The first fountain pen was patented in 1884 by Lewis E. Waterman.

The first hand-held Kodak Camera was invented in 1888.

John Logie Baird, inventor of the television, was born in 1888.
  1890

The first motion picture camera and projector developed around 1891.

The first American patent for the radio was received by Nikola Tesla in 1897.

The first radio waves were transmitted across the Atlantic ocean on December 12, 1901 by Marconi.

Chester Floyd Carlson, inventor of Xerography, was born February 8, 1906
.Philo Taylor Farnsworth, inventor of the television, was born August 19, 1906. He also invented the television, a radar system, a cold cathode ray tube, a new type of baby incubator, and the first electronic microscope.

Edwin H. Land, inventor or the Polaroid Land Camera, was born on May 7, 1909.

  1910 The first talking motion picture or kinetophone developed by Edison in 1912.  
  1920 In 1926, the first all-electronic television image was invented. Dr. Martin Cooper, inventor of the cell phone, was born on December 26, 1928.
  1930 Xerography, which means "dry writing,"was invented in 1938.
  1940 On February 21, 1947, Edwin H. Land introduced his Polaroid Land Camera, providing instantaneous photos.

Steve Wozniak, co-inventor of the Apple personal computer was born on August 11, 1950.

Stephen P. Jobs, co-inventor of the Apple Personal Computer, was born on February 24, 1955.

Tim Berners Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web, was born on June 8, 1955

William H. Gates, III, inventor of Basic computer "language" to operate microprocessors ,was born on October 28, 1955.

On April 3, 1973, the first cell phone call was made by Dr. Martin Cooper.

A version of Basic "computer language" was invented in 1974-75.

The MITS Altair 8800, invented by H. Edward Roberts, was developed and marketed as, the world's first "personal computer." It however, was a kit for hobbyists to "build" themselves.

The AppleII, the first "real" fully built Personal Computer was unveiled in 1977, by Steven P. Jobs and Steve Wozniak.
