School Counselor's Week
Each year at Dr. Joe Ward Elementary we honor our
two
wonderful counselors - Ms. Hicks and Mrs. Jordan by
having special events
each day. "The Six Pillars of Character" - trustworthiness,
respect,
responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship
are exhibited in our school throughout
the year. During Counselor's Week we demonstrated
a particular pillar by dressing
in something special. On Monday we wore a favorite
team or football jersey (Citizenship);
on Tuesday we wore hats ( Respect); Wednesday we wore
a Spurs shirt or black and
white to demonstrate Fairness; Thursday was Career
Day, where we dressed in
what we would like to be when we grow up (Responsibility);
and Friday was Rodeo
Day where we dressed in our western clothes (Caring).
