James Lovell

James Lovell was born on March 25,1928. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio.  He was on three Apollo rockets. James Lovell received  an honororary doctorate from  Rockhurst College. He went to the United State Naval Academy in 1952, and the University of Wisconsin, and received a  Bachelor of Science degree in 1952. James Lovell got the Eagle Scout award for freedom. James Lovell got a Distinguished Service Award, also. James Lovell got married to Marilyn Gerlach of Milwukee, Wisconsin. They had four children.

James Lovell spent a month in space. James Lovell went on five space flights. He was selected by NASA in  September 1962 for a space progam. He was one of nine astronauts of a group that was picked for the space progam. James Lovell commanded Gemini 12 in 1966 and was back up commander for Neil Armstrong. They were on Apollo 11 together. Lovell was also on Apollo 13. His crewmates were Fred Haise and Jack Swigert.

The colors of the  moon looks kind of like plaster of Paris. James Lovell was on Apollo 8 also. He went on December 21-27. Lovell was on two other rockets and they were Germini 7 and Germini 12. James Lovell was on Germini 7 though December 4-8 in the year of 1966. He was on Germini 12 from November 11-15 in the year 1966. James Lovell retired in the month and year of March 1973 from NASA , but while he was still there his assignments included being a back - up pilot.

James Lovell's business background included becoming Captain Lovell  President of Fisk Telephone System in January of 1977. On Janury 1 , 1981 James Lovell was chosen as Vice President of his group, it was Business Communication System, that was Centel Corporation. James Lovell retired from Centel Corporation as executive vice President and he was a member of Board of Directors as of  January 1, 1991.
