Frank Borman was born March 14,1928 in Gary, Indiana. Frank Borman was raised in Tucson, Arizona. His full name is Frank Frederick Borman II.
Frank Borman attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. When Frank Borman was in the U.S. Military he got his Bachelor of Science degree in 1950. Frank Borman also attended the Massachusetts Aeronautical Engineering and Institute of Technology. Frank Borman even earned his Master of Science degree. He married Susan Bugbee in 1950 .
During his career in the Air Force in 1950, he was assigned to serve as a fighter pilot, operational pilot and instructor. Frank Borman was a member of Apollo 204 Fire Investigation team that killed astronauts in an Apollo spacecraft tragedy. After that he went to N.A.S.A.
In 1993, Frank Borman and his crew were inducted into
the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame. Frank Borman received the Congressional
Space Medal of Honor from (former) President Richard Nixon. Frank Borman
also earned the Harman International Aviation Trophy. Frank Borman
earned the J. Coller Trophy, Tonny
Jannus Award, and the National Geographic Society's
Hubbard Medal. Frank Borman had other awards, degrees, and special
honors.

Frank Borman got a chance to serve as a Special Presidential Ambassador for trips around the Far East and Europe. Frank Borman also became an advisor for Eastern Airlines in 1969. In 1970, he was then a Senior Vice President-Operations Group. Frank Borman was promoted to Executive Vice President General Operation Manager.
Frank Borman was on the Mission Apollo 8. He was the Commander of Apollo 8. He worked with Jim Lovell on Gemini 7. Wally Schirra and Tom Stafford were part of the mission but on a different space craft.
Frank Borman is currently living in Las Cruses, New Mexico with his wife Susan Bugbee. He has four grandchildren and two sons. One named Edwin and the other named Fredrick. Frank Borman is currently on the Board of Directors of Home Depot. He has also has made an autobiography called Countdown: An Autobiography of Frank Borman. It was released in 1988.
