Mars

Mars is the fourth planet from the sun. Mars name came from the Roman god Ares. The month of March came from Mars. Mars is like Earth it has a mantle, crust, and a core. Mars mass is 641,900,000,000,000,000,000,00.
We don't know who discovered it. In 1971, Mariner 9 visited Mars and brought back pictures of Olympus Mons. Olympus Mons is now the world's most famous volcano on Mars and Earth. Also in 1975, Mariner 9 found evidence that water once flowed on Mars. Galileo was the first one to observe Mars from a telescope in the year 1610.
Mar's days are about twenty-four hours long. Its temperature is 129 through 0 degrees. Its year is one Earth year and eighty-eight Earth days.
Mars also has two moons, Phobos and Deimos. Mar's core is made up of nickel and iron. It's atmosphere is made up of nitrogen, oxygen, and argon. Mars diameter is 6,785 kilometers. Mars is only one third the size of Earth. Mars has much higher mountains and it has far deeper canyons. There are three volcanos that can be seen to the west of the big red spots. Mars atmosphere is 95% carbon dioxide 3% nitrogen 1% argon. Mars atmosphere is thinner than Earth atmosphere. Mars is red because the soil has rust and iron in it.
The first complete mission to Mars was Mariner 4 in 1965. And with several other completed missions. Like Mars 2 and both Vikings Leaders in 1976 and Mars Pathfinder in 1997. There are still three Mars orbiters in Mars orbit studying the planet. Their names are Surveyor, Mars Odyssey and Mars Express.
Mars, God of War, got its name by its red color. If
you weigh 52 pounds on Earth you would weigh 19,708 pounds on Mars. Mars
also has the biggest canyon that can stretch from Los Angeles to New York
City. It takes exactly twenty-four hours and thirty seven minutes for one
day. This planet rarely has clouds because there is hardly any water water
on the planet.
