The students and staff of Dr. Joe Ward Elementary assembled on the school playground, joined hands
and paused  for a moment of silence to honor the many heroes of 911. Mrs. Ashburn read a passage about the
patriotism of America and then everyone joined together in singing "I'm Proud to Be An American."
