National Children's Book Week
is celebrated each year at Dr. Joe Ward Elementary. This year is was held
the week of November 13-17, 2006. On Monday, we listened to a Ward Wrangler
author read from her
book to the whole school on
WARD TV, our teachers also dressed up as a favorite book character.
On Tuesday, parents or adult
family members came and read to their student's class.
On Wednesday, we took our hats
off to a good book by wearing a favorite hat.
On Thursday, we paired up with
our buddy class and shared a book together.
We culminated our week by having
D.E.A.R. time (Drop Everything And Read) day.
Ada Gonzalez and daughters. Mrs. Gonzalez is a published author and read her book on announcements during book week. |
