Geography Bee
Dr. Joe Ward Elementary received
a Northside Education Foundation Grant last year and the money was used
to buy Geo-Safari's and other geography related equipment for classrooms.
Students from Kindergarten through fifth grade learned about our world
through use of this material. To celebrate all they learned the Social
Studies Committee sponsored a Geography Bee with the top five students
from each grade level, competing in a geography bee. First and second place
winners were named as each grade level competed. The evening of March 23rd,
a Geography Evening was held and parents came and viewed each classroom
display of one of the fifty states of the United States of America.
