Students and Staff and Dr. Joe
Ward Elementary celebrate being drug free
during Red Ribbon Week by participating
in many varied activities. In the classrooms
various activities are completed
and each day students participate as a school by
doing activities or wearing
a particular type of clothing to represent one of the
Pillars of Character. On Monday,
students "Team Up Against Drugs" to
show Trustworthiness by wearing
a favorite team t-shirt. On Tuesday, students represent
"United We stand for a Drug
Free Land" by wearing a hat to demonstrate Citizenship.
On Wednesday, students wear
red to show red-hot Responsibility to stay drug-free.
On Thursday, it is Smiles Day
to represent "I'm Happy Being Drug Free!"
Students wear yellow or something
with smiles to demonstrate Fairness
and Caring. On Friday, we show
our spirit and our respect for each other
by wearing our school spirit
shirts. Our week culminates in
our annual Bluebonnet Stomp
where we beautify our world with
flowers and "stomp out drugs."
