Mrs. Brenda Ward 2003 - |
My career in education began in 1988 when I graduated
from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. After graduation I moved
to San Antonio, Texas where I received my first teaching assignment. My
teaching experience includes being a third grade teacher, math specialist
K-5, and behavior specialist K-5. I received my Masters of Education in
1994 from Texas A&M, Kingsville. I enjoyed serving as Vice Principal
and Principal of H.T. Brauchle Elementary and now Principal of Dr. Joe
Ward Elementary.
My husband Michael and I have two sons, James and Joshua. As a family we enjoy swimming, boating, fishing, and camping. It is exciting serving as Principal of Dr. Joe Ward Elementary. I have strived to create a partnership with students, parents, staff and community to instill a lifelong love for learning in everyone. |
Mrs. Carin Adermann - Vice Principal 2003 - 2006 |
I'm a proud graduate of Texas A&M University where
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization
in Reading in 1989. I began my teaching career with the Department of Defense
Dependents Schools in Okinawa, Japan, where I taught both first and second
grades, then joined Northside Independent School District in 1993, teaching
fourth grade at Brauchle Elementary for ten years. I completed my
Master of Arts in Educational Leadership at the University of Texas San
Antonio in 2003.
If you ask anyone who knows me well, they will share with you that my hobby is working at school. I love being part of a learning community! It is so exciting to see the result of good instruction, collaboration, and meaningful learning experiences. When I'm not at school, my time is spent with my husband, Dean, and children, Rebecca and Jake, who make me laugh and keep me grounded in the foundation of family. |
Sunday Nelson - Vice- Principal 2006 - |
I graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Early Childhood Education. I began my teaching career in Northside Independent School District in 1996, teaching third, second and fifth grades at Braun Station and Mary Michael Elementary. Upon completion of my Master of Arts in Education at the University of Texas at San Antonio, I began my administrative journey at Villarreal Elementary, where I served as Assistant Principal. My next assignment took me to one of Northside's newest campuses, Blattman Elementary, where I was the vice principal for three years. In my spare time when I am not at school, my time is spent with my two beautiful children, Jessica and Graham. They are the joys in my life and I spend as much time with them as I can, whether it is driving to soccer practice, t-ball games, or dance competitions. I look forward to working with the students, parents, and community to make this another successful year. Please feel free to stop by, call or email me if you need any assistance. Together we can Lasso Success! |
Elizabeth Hernandez Administrative Intern 2006 - |
Howdy! My name is Elizabeth Hernandez, and this is
my first year as an Assistant Principal for the 2006-2007 school year.
I am a proud Ward Wrangler and feel fortunate to work with such a supportive
group of staff and community members.
I graduated from Texas A&M University-Kingsville in 1996 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Masters Degree in 2003 in Educational Administration. My first teaching experience started in The Rio Grande Valley (San Benito) where I was born and raised. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a private school- Immaculate Conception School (Rio Grande City, Texas) and in districts that include United I.S.D (Laredo, Texas), and Southwest I.S.D. I have been in education for a total of 10 and a half years and 6 of those have been in Northside (Passmore Elementary, Mary Michael Elementary and now Ward Elementary). I’ve taught 4th and 1st grades. On a personal note, I have been married for eight years to my amazing and supportive husband Silverio who is also an educator in the Northeast District. On my spare time, I like to scrapbook, shop, spend time with friends and visit my family in the Valley. |
