About Mr. Romero
Welcome to 2007 - 2008! I am so excited to be at Dr. Joe Ward Elementary.
My wife and I came to San Antonio in 2002 from San Angelo, Texas. This
will be my sixth year as a elementary classroom teacher and I continue
to enjoy every bit of it.
My wife and I come from a strong educational background.
My mother was an instructional aide
in the Midland Independent School District for 10 years. My wife's mother
currently teaches in the San Angelo Independent School District; her
grandmother was an elementary librarian; and her aunt was an elementary
teacher and now currently teaches adult education in West Texas. Aside
from those resources my wife taught as a Gifted/Talented teacher was
a Guidance Counselor, an is now a Librarian at Westwood Terrace Elementary
in Northside ISD.
I come to San Antonio with eleven years of various educational work experience, ranging from instructional aide positions to special education. My most valuable experience came in the summer of 1998, when I was a camp counselor for Texas Lions Camp. Working at camp, with handicapped children, taught me many different things, most of all patience. I strongly believe with a little patience and caring, the students can be successful in all of their lerning expereinces.
As WE embark on a new year the students in my classroom will be challenged to learn new ways of thinking. Expectations will be set high as we reach our personal goals!!!.
