Students who are not up to date with the state mandated immunizations will not be able to start school in the Fall 2006. Parents should ensure that all shots are taken care of before the start of school.

"While we do not want any child to miss school," says District Health Services Director Shirley Schreiber, "it is imperative that parents fulfill their responsibility and get their children immunized. It is the law." She adds, "You should do that now and avoid the long lines at doctor's offices and the city health department."
