Robert Garland

This is Mr. Garland's third year at Zachry Middle School. He serves as an Assistant Principal at two schools - Zachry and Rayburn Middle Schools.
Mr. Garland retired from the military 12 years ago and immediately came to Northside as a 6th grade Science teacher at Rudder Middle School. After 3 years in the classroom he moved into Administration as an Assistant Principal. He has served in that capacity at Hobby, Jordan, Stinson, Pease, and Stevenson Middle Schools.
Mr. Garland earned his Bachelor's degree in Education from Nicholls State University and his Master's degree in Management/Human Resources from Webster University.
He truly believes that education is the number one priority of a nation, if it hopes to be successful. Its purpose is to prepare its students to become thinking, feeling, and creative individuals. Schools need to be communities of learning which are willing to change and adapt itself to meet the human and social needs/demands of all the people. It should only have one goal in mind - the welfare of the boys and girls it serves.
