Use of Computers
It's almost a given that your child will be using a computer at Zachry Middle School. There is an increasing number of classes and / or areas where computer use is necessary. These include: Technology Applications, SRI Testing, READ 180, GT / Alpha, Math CMP, IT- Exploration, Library research, and numerous Integration Projects done by teachers. However, written permission, as outlined below, must be acquired before your child will be able to get on any networked computer at Zachry Middle School.
The Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA, April 2001) requires that each school district receiving federal funds (Title and E-rate) implement an Internet Safety Policy. Federal Law and NISD Policy prevent any Northside ISD student from using any networked computer in the District for any purpose without written consent from the student's parent guardian and the student's agreement, in writing to abide by acceptable use policies, regulations and District guidelines.
