As Campus Instructional Technologist, my job is to promote Technology Integration through staff development and support. My duties include providing staff development classes for teachers and staff on how to use administrative tools, such as GroupWise e-mail and eGrade (electronic grade book). I do minor troubleshooting of hardware and software, keep track of our technology inventory and work closely with the principal to utilize all of our technology to the fullest extent. My job is constantly evolving to keep up with the best teaching practices using technology as a motivator, creativity tool and so much more!
As one of the "Zachry originals", I transferred to this campus from Sul Ross Middle School in 1985, when Zachry Middle School first opened. This is my 25th year as an educator in NISD. I began my teaching career in 1983 as an Industrial Arts teacher, which I taught for 10 years. I moved to Computer Literacy in 1993 at Zachry M.S. for 6 years. For the past 9 years I have been Zachry Middle School's C.I.T.
I've also been involved in writing Computer Literacy, Technology Integration curriculum and instruction manuals for the new eGrade and CMS software for N. I.S.D. I've taught district staff development classes in technology integration and helped with summer Computer Bond Deployment, as well as other Technology initiatives for the district. I have a Bachelors and Masters Degree from Western Michigan University and a Texas certification in Computer Literacy. I am happily married and have 5 children ranging from 8 to 26 years old. They keep me young at heart!
