A Science AST empowers and supports teachers to feel confident to teach science. The job is to build capacity in the teachers.
We communicate and update teachers with training, ideas, and news from the Science Department. We schedule and implement hands-on science labs that reinforce science concepts taught in the classroom. We plan with the teachers, co-teaching, organize materials that are needed, and review data. We also organize Family Science Night, Science Fair, Science tutoring,
Science announcements,
planning of STAAR Targeted review and implementing other duties as assigned.
