Project ACORN is a local program designed for third, fourth and fifth graders that promotes learning about the local climate and nature while planting and promoting the growth of native plants. We have raised beds behind our library that students will be responsible to care for. Students will be learning about soil, clouds, and water. They will also learn about native plants, trees, birds and insects and how they interact to keep a happy ecosystem. They will have an opportunity to plant, grow and hopefully take home some seasonal vegetables.
