The F.L.A.G. (Fly, Lower and Gather) Program at Colonies North Elementary is a national program, founded by Retired Air Force Master Sergeant, Jim Rodriguez. Colonies North Elementary is the first school in Northside ISD to implement this program in San Antonio and is run by F.L.A.G. Club Sponsor/Community Leader: Ms. Riggs and F.L.A.G. Club Sponsor: Coach Spruill

This program teaches 4th and 5th grade students about the history of the United States flag and about the respect both the U.S. and Texas flags deserve. Crew Members will learn proper flag etiquette, flag folding techniques, and fun flag facts from a school leader, uniformed public servant, or military volunteer.

This program is a school year commitment with 4-6 weeks training, one day a week after school until the training is over, followed by a monthly meeting until the end of the school year. Once training is over, members will be scheduled for flag duty (AM/PM) on a rotating weekly basis. Students who complete the F.L.A.G. Club program will receive a Citizenship Award Certificate at the end of the year.
