Jordan Clubs

Clubs Names and Purpose
  • Book Club:  To read and react to books through discussion and projects.
  • Genius Hour: Learn about something you are passionate about by researching with the help of your librarian.
  • Makerspaces: Learn to use basic tools like a measuring tape while turning common products into creative creations. Let’s make stuff!
  • Student Council: Leadership skills and activities, school spirit, community service (Food Drive and Food Bank), drug free week, Pennies for Patients, teacher appreciation week, etc.
  •  FCA(Fellowship of Christian Athletes): Fellowship with students that share similar interest in Christianity and sports.   Meetings include bible study followed by time to play volleyball and basketball.
  • GT Club: Provide community service to Jordan in general and the GT students in particular; participate in activities inspired by GT student interests such as strategy games, technology games, scrapbooking, etc; participate in fundraising to support and provide activities, community service, and possibly field trips.
  • Library Crew: The library crew will assist with student circulation, patron services, shelving, and all other library business to learn customer service skills and help make the library more effective.
  • Writing Club:Students will write creative pieces and share with each other.  We will work on publishing either campus wide or on a blog.
  • Random Acts of Kindness Club: Help create a positive school climate by spreading awareness and increasing engagement through kind actions -Review kindness concepts -Thank you cards for the teachers -Community projects ex: dog toys for animal care services -Partner up with Student Council on projects
  • Robotics: Inspire young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.  Participate in the NISD Robotics Competitions (FLL)
  • Order of the Phoenix: Students will discuss and explore all things Harry Potter: the books/movies, debate fan theories, participate in themed games and crafts, and experience food/drinks mentioned in the books.
  • Earth Club: Students will collect recycling bins around campus, and explore ways to help our earth and our school.
  • Art club: The purpose of this club is to promote creative thinking and have students work collaboratively to become better creative problem solvers . Students will possibly also  attend an end of the year field to the McNay Art Museum. This will teach students proper art museum etiquette and how to critically evaluate artwork in a gallery setting.
  • Beautiful Me: The purpose of this club is to mentor young ladies on life skills, life lessons and respecting yourself to become a successful member of society.
