Progress Report Check Point#1- September 12, 2022 Progress Reports are ready to view in HAC.

● Progress Reports are provided through the Home Access Center at the 3rd and 6th weeks of each quarter.

● Teachers post a minimum of 2 grades per week.

● Please check your child’s grades in the HAC and encourage them to complete and turn in any missing assignments. Please reach out to your child’s teacher/s by email if you have questions about grades or missing assignments.

● All teachers offer tutoring at least once a week either before or after school to assist students with learning and missing assignments.

If you have any other concerns, please contact your child's counselor.

We have six early release days. The dates are September 21, October 19, January 25, February 15, April 12, and May 17. Luna will dismiss at 12:40 PM. Breakfast and sack lunches will be provided on these days.

NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY Now is the time to begin having meaningful conversations with your child about the criteria that needs to be met to be eligible to fill out an application for admission to the National Junior Honor Society. The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) elevates a school's commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. These five pillars have been associated with membership in the organization since its inception in 1929. Candidates for admission must demonstrate a commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.

In addition, to be eligible for membership, the candidate must be a seventh or eighth grader. Students must also have been in attendance at Gregory Luna Middle School the entire fall semester of the year for which they are being considered and Candidates must have a cumulative scholastic average of 90 for the fall semester of the current school year. There should be no grades below 70 for any grading period. Students in GT or Honors classes will have five points added to the semester average for those classes. Students in algebra will have eight points added. Students must exhibit exemplary character, outstanding citizenship, capable leadership, and devoted service.
