Seven Northside students qualified for national history fair competition after success at the state level. They represent three high schools.
This year’s theme is “Conflict and Compromise” and advancing projects include a paper, documentary, and exhibit.
National History Day competition is June 10-14 at the University of Maryland, College Park.
Thirty three NISD students qualified for state competition this year. Students ranked first or second at the state level advanced to nationals in either the junior or senior level of competition. They are:

Paper –
1st place – Linda Liu – Health Careers HS
Group Documentary –
2nd place – Edward Morales, Laisza De La Rosa, Olivia Doiron, Jaime Josol and Ryan Baladez – Communications Arts HS
Individual Exhibit –
2nd place – Persephone Alicea – Jay Science and Engineering Academy
