The South Texas Blood & Tissue Center has planned multiple blood drives in Northside ISD as the need for blood continues amid the coronavirus pandemic.
During the first week of September, there’s even a friendly competition to raise blood donations between two alumni who were recognized as Pillars of Character. Marshall High School graduate Chuck Cureau and Taft High School graduate Karen Grace are participating in the Pillars of Northside Showdown. The goal is 500 blood donations with support from NISD friends, family, and the community.
All blood donations will be tested for the antibody to COVID-19 from June 8 – Sept. 30. The test is free and results will be available online through a donor portal.
Visit SouthTexasBlood.org/testing for more information on testing.
