District continues to expand dual language programs

“Exciting things are happening in NISD in regards to creating bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural students,” says Victor Raga, director of Bilingual and ESL Education.

For the 2020-2021 school year, dual language programming will expand to include grades K-1 at Glenn, Langley, Martin, and Westwood Terrace elementary schools.

In addition, the District is expanding the dual language program to Pre-K at existing dual language campuses (that offer) full-day Pre-K.  These campuses include Burke, Esparza, Fisher, Howsman, Leon Valley, Myers, Passmore, and Villarreal elementary schools.

Informational meetings are being held now through mid-February. Click here for the meeting schedule. Attendees will receive information about the program, eligibility requirements, benefits, registration process, and commitment required to participate.
