Fiddle-Fusion concert benefits future string program events

The NISD Fine Arts Department has organized a two-day event with the eclectic fiddle-fusion duo Moxie Strings to be held Sept. 21 and 22 to benefit NISD students.

The event includes four performances for all 51 elementary campuses and one evening ticketed concert.

The fifth-grade strings recruitment concerts will take place during the school day, inspiring approximately 4,500 fifth graders.

The evening ticketed performance will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $7. All proceeds will go towards funding future District string program initiatives such as the annual Electrify Your Strings event in May. This evening concert is co-organized by SAPOWR (San Antonio Parents of Orchestra Who Rock), a 501(c)3 who also help organize Electrify Your Strings each year.

Moxie Strings is a fiddle-fusion duo who performs music from the classics to hard rock 'n roll with lots of foot-stomping rhythms in an electric instrumental approach.
