Northside ISD will open a campus cafeteria during Spring Break, March 9-13, to address children's nutritional needs while school is out to provide a no-cost, hot breakfast and lunch to area students.
The Spring Break Feeding Program, one of only a handful of this kind, will be housed at Cable Elementary School, located at 1706 Pinn Road. Children from area communities are welcome to participate. You do not need to be a student at Cable Elementary School; however, no “to-go” orders will be offered.
Each day during Spring Break, breakfast will be served from 8 to 9 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to noon. Free Learning Tree Activities will be available from 8:30 to 10:45 a.m.
“We know that hunger doesn’t take a spring break and that many of our students may not have access to quality, nutritional food during this time,” says Dr. Brian Woods, Superintendent. “We want to make sure that students have access to food even when school is out.”
