Northside’s annual Kinder Roundup will be held Jan. 17-27 to give next year’s kindergarten students
and their parents an opportunity to pre-register for school, meet teachers, learn more about the
program, and ensure there is space for the child at the neighborhood school.

To be eligible for kindergarten in 2023-2024, children must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1,
2023. Visit the NISD Kindergarten website for more information about the kindergarten program and registration requirements.

Students will not be assigned to a class until the summer, but parents will have plenty of
opportunities to ask questions.

Calling all future black bears! On Jan. 26, 2023 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., you may begin your Blattman Elementary adventure by attending our Kinder Round up. Our future black bears will have so much fun as they tour our amazing campus. The children will visit many places such as the library for a story, Discovery classes, visit a Kindergarten classroom, play in the gym, have a snack in the cafeteria, take a tour of the school on a Northside bus to take a trip around the parking lot. While on the tour, parents will be receiving valuable information regarding Kindergarten preparation and registration from our staff and PTA. Buzz in for our annual Kinder Round-up event on Friday, Jan. 27 at 8:00 a.m. The fun will begin with a very special performance from our current Kindergarten students. Following the performance, future Kinder families will have the opportunity to have some of their burning questions answered at an informational session presented by our Kindergarten teachers and administration. The informational session will help parents and future bees prepare for the Kindergarten school year and will include details about our highly requested Dual Language program. At the closing of the presentation, all future Kinder Bees and their families are invited to tour our Kindergarten classrooms. Wednesday, January 18th from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Stations will be set up in the library by our Kinder Team and Specialists. Counselors will be giving school tours of discovery classrooms, kinder classrooms, cafeteria, etc. Goodie bags will be given to each student filled with school supplies and lists of things to work on to be ready for kinder.

It's time to round up our Highlanders! Dr. Sara B. McAndrew will hold a Kinder Round-up and registration on Tuesday, Jan. 24 from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Parents and students will meet the teachers and will take a guided tour by our student council. Our new Highlanders will visit the gymnasium, music room, art room, library, playground AND will have an opportunity to tour a kinder classroom. We can't wait to meet you!

Our Kindergarten Round Up event will take place on Jan. 26 at 9:30 a.m. The Kindergarten teachers and students will create a video to show our “Future Bobcats” a day in the life of a MVE Kindergartener. The video will feature pictures, student interviews speaking about their favorite things about Kindergarten and a tour of the campus, including Kindergarten classrooms. The Kindergarten team will provide information on "what your child needs to know in Kindergarten", as well as provide ideas and suggestions that parents can do at home to prepare their child for the best kindergarten year ever!
